Young Love

Carter and Griffin came over Saturday night to play while their parents went to dinner. We love having fun friends to babysit swap with!!
Carter brought Morgan flowers (her first!!). When he gave them to her she said, "Oh, they're beautiful!"

She loved them so much she asked Carter to help her plant them in the back yard. Here they are trying to dig holes and plant the flowers. After 10 minutes of trying to get them to stand up they gave up and played with Griffin.

Morgan loves babies, especially cute little Griffin.

They took turns kissing Griffin until he started pushing them away and I had to force them to stop. The swings were a good distraction from Griffin's kissable cheeks!

Mike took Myles to the youth fireside - he thought four would put me over the edge. I think he was right. Three was fun for the night, but I am in no hurry to throw another one in the mix...just yet...

Firewood Anyone??

On Friday the men of the family got to play with big boy tools while they made firewood of about 12 trees in Grandma and Grandpas backyard.

The chain saws were roaring and the men were feeling like men in their working boots and gloves.

Mike claims he loves to work outside, but I think he really just wants to put on his camouflage pants. And Kurt seems to like his overalls (really don't we all!)...

Grandma popped out now and then to smooch on the kids and make sure they were staying warm.

Grandma and Grandpa have the best backyard with a great swing set, fire pit, and tons of room to run and explore. No wonder the kids cry when we try to take them home!

Who Needs Eyebrows Anyway?

When Morgan was just a couple months old we noticed that she rubs her eyebrows when she's sleepy. She rubs them until she falls asleep and she rubs them during the night when she wakes up. Even now that she is almost three, she continues to rub them. It's something unique about her that we have always found adorable. Well we used to think it was adorable until a couple days ago when we noticed she is rubbing the eyebrow on the left off (for some reason she prefers the one on the left). You can see if better in person, but there is a bald patch in her eyebrow.

I worried a little at first, but Mike convinced me it's no big deal. He always keeps things in perspective...

Even if she rubs off both eyebrows, we would still think she's the cutest girl in the entire world!!

Who knew nerds could be so much fun?!?

Yesterday Nina dropped Carter off to come and play. Carter came bearing treats for all - a big box of NERDS. They sat the counter for 30 minutes (an amazing accomplishment for them) just giggling and eating.

Morgan was a little more conservative than Carter eating hers one little nerd at a time, whereas Carter took more of a male approach by enjoying fist-fulls at a time. I was amazed how much of his fist he could actually fit in his mouth.

Myles came running straight to Carters chair every time he heard "dink, dink" on the ground as they would drop from above. I wonder if he thought it was raining Nerds.

Here they are 30 minutes after the grand opening of the box - still going strong.

Thanks for introducing Morgan to Nerds Carter! It was a real treat!

About Myles

We can't imagine life without our little busy body Myles. Myles, who we loving call Boog, turned one at the end of January. He's been on the move since he was 6 months old and hasn't slowed down yet. This is a picture from his birthday party at Chuck E Cheeses.

Here he is at 14 months trying desperately to feed himself. He gets about half in his mouth and is so proud of it.

His favorite place to be is outside. If he's not outside then he's standing at the back door pointing to go out. He spends a lot of time on cold days standing at the door crying... what do you do??

About Morgan

Morgan is our little angel. She is so sweet and still a little shy. At the pool she likes to play along side of the pool in the puddles - go figure.

Like every other two year old she loves to play outside.

She is such a little mother with Myles. She always asks to hold him and drags him around everywhere. Myles is starting to stand up for himself a little more now that he is getting close to her size.

What a Vacation

We had a great time on our Easter vacation in Utah. The kids loved seeing Grandma & Grandpa, having easter egg hunts, swimming, and playing with cousins.
It was a relief on Easter morning to see that the Easter bunny found us away from home. Morgans favorite thing was a big chocolate easter bunny that she wouldn't let go of for anything. Thank goodness it was hollow inside...

Swimming with the cousins was a highlight of the trip. Morgan loved playing with Cayden who is only 3 months older than she is.

I think Myles liked the OREOs the best.

Morgan just fell in love with Katie. In fact, when we got home she asked multiple times, "Where's Katie?" It's asked almost as much as "Can I get a new dog"? I think she still misses Paul.

Myles found a partner in crime to create havoc with everywhere. Jackson is the only kid I've met that is busier than Myles. It was nice to see that Myles behavior is relatively normal.

It was a fabulous and much needed vacation. Good times were had by all.

Everyone is Doing It

I've been meaning to keep a journal for a while now, so I decided to enter the evil world of blogging. This is an equal substitute - right?!? I mean how cleaver can I get - keeping a journal and keeping family and friends updated all at the same time... Impressive... Besides everyone is doing it!
