Shhh! Be very quiet!

Morgan watched the girls so we could take the boys to see A Quiet Place 2...
Oh man! I am not usually a fan of scary movies, but I LOVED both the first and the second Quiet Place movies!  (And looks like there could be a #3! ๐Ÿคž).  It did not disappoint. We all gave it 2 thumbs up! ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘
Nice job taking a picture of us Miles!  You’re awesome. Way to get in there.

Mountain Man Rendezvous

Will thought he wasn’t going to experience Mountain Man Rendezvous because it’s a 4th grade thing and it was canceled last year because of Covid.  Well, the 4th graders invited the 5th graders to come with them  this year!!!  It was such a great day! I volunteered to help with Will’s class so I got to take a group of 12 around to all the stations.  It was such a fun day!
First stop: archery.

Amazon box for the win!

Maybe I’ll order a bunch of stuff on Amazon so I can get some more boxes. (Because we don’t get enough Amazon packages around here. ๐Ÿคฅ๐Ÿคฅ)   All I need is a few boxes and Ivy will be entertained all summer!

Notes from Ivy

Ivy’s at that fun age where she loves writing little notes to everyone.  Here’s a couple of our favorites lately.

“You do good stuff. Thanks for that.” ๐Ÿ˜‚ Could she be any cuter!!   And this next one was written for Mike  after he finished speaking in our ward conference.  “You did a good talk to me”.
I’m dying!!!  The absolute cutest. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ I would love to have a kindergarten around all the time!  Somebody make time stop!!!!!

Meg’s “You Teach”

In 3rd grade one of the end of year assignments is to give a presentation where you teach the class how to do something. It’s called “You Teach”. Meg and her partner Kate wanted to teach the class how to make Rice Krispie Treats.  They even went the extra mile and brought the class samples.  Way to wrap up 3rd grade Meg!  It’s been a rough year for Meg with her osteomyelitis, but she’s finishing strong!

I Love to See the Temple

Even though temples still aren’t open (we are in phase 2 currently, I think) Miles had to get a picture of himself by the temple for seminary.  He’s such a goofball.

Will Deacon’s Quorum hasn’t been able to go to the temple yet, but are still centering activities around the temple.  Will is hoping it opens for Baptisms soon and he can go.  (Right now it’s by appointment only and they all filled up within minutes.) I guess we just have to wait patiently a little longer.

Will - Colonial Days

Thank goodness some things are getting back to normal.  There weren’t any off campus field trips this year, but there were still some on-site school field-trip type events. The 5th graders had their traditional Colonial Days. Will looks good signing the Declaration of Independence and The Constitution!

I Shall Not Want

My sweet friends and neighbors wanted to do something nice for our family after my dad passed away.  Lisa & Dan Frei headed up the search for some artwork for our home.  After Lisa dropped something by so she could secretly scope out our house, she found some art she thought would fit in with our existing decor.  She was right!  It’s perfect!  For months I’ve been trying to figure out what to put over the piano, but haven’t had any luck.   This reminder of my loving friends is the perfect final touch to our living room. It’s called I Shall Not Want by Yongsung Kim, and it was even personally signed by him when he was just here visiting Utah from Korea.  I love it so much.

I can’t believe how kind our ward family has been. It feels like it never ends.  They are the best examples of mourning with those that mourn.  (I had to go buy more stamps for all the thank you cards I had to write.)

Now every time I sit in my front room, I am reminded of my loving friends and their sweet care while we were (and still are) going through a tender time.

Ivy Tries School Lunch

The kindergartners got to try out the lunchroom in preparation for 1st grade.   Ivy had her first (and probably last) school lunch.   All my kids have always wanted home lunch, but maybe Ivy will surprise me and eat school lunch.  She did come home and say it was gross, so probably not. ๐Ÿคจ

Morgan goes to Prom (Jr Year)

Covid has caused such a damper on high school life, but finally we are getting back to normal!  Prom is the first dance that is happening for the year (and the school year is almost over).  On Wednesday night around 11 pm, this was dropped off for Morgan.
https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1nNCH3N_5_bvpMoXTjVDbyDtO_uzDRKQt
It says, “Of all the fishies in the sea, will you go to prom with me?”  Then the letters of his name were circled and she had to inscramble them. It came with an actual fish. ๐Ÿ™„  After seeing the letters we knew it was Sam Stevenson.  Morgan was so happy. Sam’s awesome!
https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1grvOpittX-gZbSDd0KX-uQ7bMcqTQVyt
Sam was so nice to take Morgan to prom, but not so nice to ask 3 days before the dance.  That only gave us 2 days to find a dress and get it altered before prom.  When every store is completely picked though and Morgan is a size 00, it was basically an impossible task. We shopped and looked and wanted to pull our hair out. BUT good thing we have family that owns a dress store!  Cousin Cortney helped us find a dress in her store, Bliss Dresses, and even hooked us up with a lady to alter the dress overnight.  We couldn’t believe it.
Cousin Katie was up at Grandma’s helping all the grandkids plant flowers for Grandma’s Mother’s Day present, so she helped Morgan get ready. I was so relieved.  I’m not good at hair.

So pretty!

Poor Sam had to pick Morgan up a my mom’s since we were all there working on the yard, so he had an audience. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Good thing Katie was there to help with the boutonniere.  Those pins can be dangerous. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Jon Baker took their photos at the Capital before they headed to dinner at Ombu Grill.  It’s a Korean BBQ restaurant where you cook your meat at your table.
Morgan had a great first dance!

After a week of taking care of this sad fish, we decided we couldn’t take it any longer.  I didn’t want to flush it, but I didn’t want a pet around the house.  We came up with a brilliant solution!  Morgan took Sam a thank you Swig and wrote on the cup, “I o”fish”ally had a blast at prom!”  She then returned the fish to Sam.  He deserved it ๐Ÿ˜œ
