Buddy our occasional dog

Since my mom's knees are doing great and she's feeling like a new woman, my parents are back to traveling around and enjoying retirement :) 

When they travel, we get to take care of Buddy.  It makes the kids so happy.  Its the closest they'll get to having a dog so they live it up :)

sneaking in some nadauld time

Last week Mike had to travel to DC for work.  Not long after he left for the airport I got a text from him with this picture… WHAT??  Apparently Taylor was going to DC at the same time and they were on the same flight.  What are the odds :)  After a little shuffling of seats they were able to sit together.  Aww :)  

I told Mike, "sorry, but my seat partner is cuter than yours".   

It wasn't fair for Mike to get some Taylor time without me getting some AnnDee time… So AnnDee and I hooked up (shhh, on a school day) for some shopping and lunch with our adorable babies!  

Just another crazy saturday...

It was a typical busy Saturday… It started with Miles having early morning basketball practice, then  his football game which ended just in time for us to run to Will's soccer game…  Then we had 15 minutes to get all 5 kids lunch and dressed for 3 of our friends baptisms.  (Luckily they were all in our ward so we only had to go to one place for the baptisms.)  Oh, and did I mention that Mike was in school so I was doing all this solo….   5 kids on my own at a baptism is just as stressful as taking them all to sacrament meeting by myself….  

Hopefully after hearing about my morning you'll understand why I didn't want (or have time to) fight with Will about what is appropriate attire for a baptism…  At least he was dressed for the occasion from the waist up :)   Hey, I'll take what I can get.  And at least his shoes matched his shorts, right :) 

Later that evening was the Women's broadcast…  I thought about getting myself and Morgan dressed back up into our church clothes to go, but I decided that after the day we had, we deserved to get into our jammie pants and watch from the couch.  It was amazing!  I loved every single word!  And besides, if we went to the church to watch, little Meggie wouldn't have watched with us.  Everything is better with Meg around!  

Love my Saturdays, but they wear me out every single week….

Miles' reflections entry

At our school, 4th graders are required to enter the reflections contest.  This year the theme was "Let your imagination fly".  Miles decided to make his entry fall into the photography category.  

He loved going around and taking pictures and "letting his imagination fly".  

This is what he ended up with….

It says "My little sister is 4 months and she is already having an imaginary tea party.  It is never to young to let your imagination fly."

I took this picture of Ivy while we were getting the settings on the camera ready for Miles… It turned out pretty cute of our little lady.  

Ivy at 3 months

Ivy is changing….  She gets cuter and cuter every day!  

Around 3 1/2 months Ivy rolled from her back to tummy to back…  Mike was with us when she did it, or he said he wouldn't have believed me.  She is young to be rolling back to tummy, but she isn't the first of our babies to do that… Active, strong, curious babies are what we are used to around here.  

Finally enjoying tummy time :)  

Even though she can roll, she prefers to scooch around on her back.  She can get all over the place that way.  She gets wedged under the couch or stuck in the corner.  When she gets to the wall she just keeps scooching and bonking her head into the wall.  She hasn't figured out to stop once she hits the wall.  Funny little thing.  

She gets bored when she's awake and wants entertainment.  The kids do a good job of entertaining her, but when they are busy, she loves her saucer.  There's almost too much to look at when she's in it :) 

So cute!! Another fun baby item that has been used by all 5 of our kids.  

Ivy's getting good with her hands.  She can put them together now and control where they go.  She's started grabbing things and sucking on them.  Sometimes (after I wash my hands of course :) I'll let her suck on my finger.  She loves it!  

It's been one of the craziest, busiest months of our lives, but it's also been one of the most rewarding.  Love the busyness of being a mom…. (Most of the time anyway).
