Floating around in my Noggin

So many questions have been floating around in my head this week...

Question #1- Do I potty train my 2 year old son?
Myles has been telling me pee pee on occasion for the last few weeks and LOVES to stand and pee in the potty like daddy. The truth is, I really don't want to potty train him yet. It's laziness on my part. I love that I don't need to worry about him needing to go during church, at the store or wherever we may be. I also feel like he's too young (even though Morgan was potty trained for months by this age - for some reason I think he's a boy and can't be ready yet...)
I decided to push my selfish concerns to the side and let him try. Well - so far so good. He's gone pee in the potty for a few days and even, what's the proper way to say it, had a bowel movement in the potty yesterday. He was so proud and he LOVES his new underwear. He picked these out because they had balls on them... I was SO glad he didn't pick the character ones. After seeing him with a big diaper bum his whole life, it's kinda cute to see him in underwear. I just love little bums.

Question #2 - I know it's been a while since my last math class so correct me if I'm wrong - but it just doesn't seem to calculate. If they have a 50% chance of putting things on right, why do they get it backwards 100% of the time?
I swear every time I ask them to get dressed or get their shoes on, it turns out like this.

Question #3 - Why did I want to wear a full body disguise when I went to pick out a gift for tonight's bridal shower?
I'm a grown, married, somewhat mature woman, and I get embarrassed going in and coming out of this store. Why? I can't figure it out... Maybe it was because of all the teenage couples walking around the store holding their dirty little purchases that made me feel a little awkward... Oh well, I did get a fun little gift for our friends to enjoy AFTER their wedding next month.
Question #4 - Why do I keep talking smack to other runners of the Liger 5k, when I know there's no way I can beat them?
I have a sickness. At times I get a tad bit competitive. This can be a good quality if you can back it up... I have told more than one person that I plan to kick their trash all over the course of the liger run next Saturday. The problem is, they have been people who have had much more running experience than me and they are in much better shape than I am. Now I will have to deal with the humiliation of looking them in the eye at the finish line knowing that I couldn't walk (or in this case run) the talk of my big fat competitive mouth.
Question #5 - Is my desire to go to Hawaii strong enough to train for a marathon and leave my kids for a week?
This December Mike wants us to do a marathon in Hawaii. I haven't committed yet, but that chair is looking a little lonely to me...

lovely ladies

What inspired my lovely little lady to want to wear an eye patch and glasses all day long?

This other lovely little lady named Carly. Carly is Morgan's latest obsession. Everything is Carly, Carly, Carly... Morgan is usually surrounded by boys, and I love that she has a girl friend to do girly things with. When these two get together it's all about giggling and every girls favorite thing.... ACCESSORIES!
Love the gloves girls.

What do you do with two lovely little ladies dressed up all fancy?? You read them Morgan's favorite new book...
If you have a little girl in your life and they don't have this book - it's a MUST HAVE! Morgan got this book for her birthday and she's been fancy ever since. She really enjoys fancy foods like hot dogs with special dipping sauce... It doesn't get much fancier than that.

Don't worry about Myles being around all this girly pink stuff... When Carly comes over she brings the perfect accessory for Myles... Her brother Max. While Morgan's off primping with Carly, Myles gets to run around and do boy things with Max. I think it's a match made in heaven.

Da Beach

We just got back from one of our favorite vacations ever. We spent the last week soaking in the sun with Mike's family and some of his extended family at Duck Beach in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. FUN.

We all rented a huge house right on the beach. This is us on the deck of the house - the beach is the back yard...

Myles wanted to be at the beach every waking second of the day. He got the drill down quickly, sunblock and then the beach. He was in such a hurry to go to the beach, he just couldn't wait for us to sunblock him.

Morgan's favorite part of the beach was the sand. She played in the sand until her little skin was raw.

This is a picture of Myles first beach experience. He was so excited until he got wet and then fell down in the sand. He didn't like that he couldn't get the wet sand off.
The beach bum walk of shame.

Morgan and cousin Kelsey had so much fun building sandcastles together. Cousins make the best friends!

Myles and cousin Tyler chillin' out.

I enjoyed shallow ocean excursions of wave jumping with the kids.

Mike, on the other hand, enjoyed going out and getting right into the action. He was so fun to watch, all though there were times when the waves were huge and he made those of us watching a little nervous.
Now there are some good lookin' men.. Hubba-hubba.

The men going off to play.

These characters thought it would be funny to dump water on us while we sat around the pool below. Grandma may look innocent, but don't be fooled, she was the ringleader.

The beach house had a pool and hot tub in the backyard. Score.

Water aerobics was taught by Kate and Chad and was definitely needed with all the yummy food we ate over the course of the week.

One of the kids favorite things about the beach were the crabs. They poked their little creepy-selves out of holes all over the beach.

We found crabs everywhere... under the car...

and in the swimming pool too.

On Sunday we had one big family home evening.

So many stinkin' cute kids in one place.

Taryn and Jason came up with an adorable craft for the kids, seashell night lights. They collected all the shells and helped the kids glue them on. You guys are the BEST!

Aunt Kate and Uncle Chad were lifesavers for us. They entertained our children and kept Morgan giggling the entire trip. Morgan followed Katie everywhere and constantly asked where her "Chady" was. Kate and Chad entertained Mike and I too by watching movies with us and playing Euker with a jumbo, not-so-user-friendly deck of cards.
Grandma Dehner and Aunt Diana made all 38 of us pillowcases. They were all so cute it was hard to pick which one to keep... Here are some of ours (Myles is sleeping with his right now - my kids have been carrying them around everywhere). Thank you Shawn and Diana! We love them and you both!
