I just keep telling him - time will ease the pain

We are sad today. Miles has shed quite a few tears already.

Fruit snacks wouldn't even help... It's serious.

You see, for the last week we've had a special visitor at our house. Boxer.
Boxer's owners went out of town for their spring break and we got to dog-sit. The kids had the best week with this little dog. Miles laughed uncontrollably most of the week. He was all smiles until he woke up this morning and couldn't find Boxer. Hopefully his broken heart will heal quickly.
Here are some memories from the week with our new little friend.

Proof that girls are smarter than boys

We have a few house guests this weekend... Jake and Luke are here for a few days and we LOVE it - it's giving me a true taste of what a house full of kids would be like. There has been tons of excitement already :) This morning I was feeling brave and took all the kids to the store (only because I had to get one thing). On our way through the check-out, the kids spotted some candy peeps and really wanted to try one. I thought it might be interesting to see their first reactions to a peep, so I bought some.
Here they are before tasting....

Miles devoured his and gave the peep a thumbs up.

Then I was totally shocked when Jake and Luke both gave the same response... I was starting to think that peeps have gotten better since I tried them over 10 years ago...

Then Morgan tried her peep...

Smart Woman.

the mess is always worth a hot shower

Today after I got out of the shower, I couldn't find the kids anywhere. I did a quick run through of the the house and didn't see a sign of either one of them. I ran back upstairs and heard giggling coming from my closet. When I opened the door, I found a huge mess of clothes all over the floor and my little kiddies standing there looking even smaller than usual... It may have been daddies over-sized t-shirts they were wearing.
Morgan LOVES my pink pumps. She wears these shoes whenever she can get her hands on them. She's got great taste already!
Even though I have a huge mess to clean up, I was just happy they entertained themselves so well while I took a shower. I couldn't help but laugh as they tried running around with excess fabric weighing them down.
I may turn my Buckeye Cowboy hat over to Miles. He's much cuter in it than I am...

Don't ask me.... Ask your father

Have I mentioned lately how much I love this girl? There is something extra special about her that makes me smile.

She loves to come up to me and poke, hug, rub, touch, or talk to my belly. Tonight after giving the baby a loving poke she said, "How did baby get in your tummy? I want to know how he got there. Was it Jesus?"
I wasn't quite sure exactly how to answer her question, so I asked her if I could think about it for a minute and get back with her. She shrugged her shoulders and walked away.
I guess she didn't want to wait for my answer so she went to ask daddy... At least I'm assuming that's what she did because shortly after she went over to Mike, I heard him start to chuckle while singing, "When a Man Loves a Woman".
