Plugging along

We’re checking things off the missionary checklist one at a time.  The visa application for Brazil is no joke. So many things to have notarized, and some apostilled. The worst thing on the visa to do list was fingerprints for her FBI background check.  We drove out to the location and spent 2 hours trying to get the fingerprints right.   The computer was not cooperating and we couldn’t have been more frustrated!!  This should have been a five minute thing and it definitely was not! 

We finally got it finished and submitted it, only to get an email the next day that the fingerprints weren’t right.  😫😫. We chose a different location and went back.  (Luckily this computer was working and it only took 5 minutes.)  Such a fun adventure! 

Here’s Morgan after an hour of trying to get it to take her fingerprints. We almost threw that kiosk out the window. I don’t think we’ve ever been more frustrated 😂

Miles goes to Prom

Miles asked Erin to Prom while we were in Hawaii and she said YES!  They had a great time! 

Spring Break 2023 🌺 Hawaii 🌺 Day 7 & 8

Our trip is coming to an end… we need more shaved ice! 

Everytime we go to Hawaii one of the kids gets sick. This year it was Ivy’s turn.  Poor thing!! I think it was heat exhaustion and being dehydrated.  She spent the day in bed and drink, drink, drinking!  

The rest of us hung at the pool close to Ivy so we could check in frequently. 

Later that night Ivy felt good enough to go to the beach for the sunset.

Meg did her best to keep up, but tonight her ankles hurt too much to keep walking.  Good thing we had muscle man Miles with us to piggyback her back to the car.  

The next morning we had the afternoon to kill before heading to the airport, so we headed to our favorite resort (The Grand Wailea) for some pictures.

Spring Break 2023 🌺 Hawaii 🌺 Day 6

It’s Sunday!  Off to church! 

It was Easter so the meeting was packed!!   People were stacked all the way back, on the stage, and spilling into the hallways and classrooms.  

Then we drove part of the Road to Hana.  Meg gets car sick, so we kept it short, but still gave the kids a taste of the experience.  We found this little hike and Meg did what she could.  She’s such a trooper!  

Our new friend almost came back to the hotel with us, but he ended up being too chicken.  🐓😜 

Spring Break 2023 🌺 Hawaii 🌺 Day 5

I swear this girl is allergic to the sun! She always breaks out in rashes when we spend extended periods of time in the sun. We brought her injections in a cooler bag on the airplane and had to give them to her while we were there.  Poor girl! She has to deal with all the yucky stuff. 

We to dinner at Threes Bar and Grill! My favorite place to get a gluten free burger! Then we shopped in the little shops and got a picture with our tiki guy. It’s a tradition now! 

Today was an enjoy-the-sunset-on-the-beach kind of night.  We took lots of pictures and just took it all in.

We got to hang out with some sea turtles for a bit.  You can see one of their little heads poking up out of the water. 🌊 🐢 ❤️

I love watching everyone walking back to the car all satisfied from a day at the beach. 😍

Tonight we had a girls night while the boys went to do things. The girl Miles wants to take to prom is also in Maui, so he went to ask her. Us girls had a grand time without them 😉
