At around 2 in the morning we heard the doorbell ring... What?? It was Bishop Redding telling us that the mountain was on fire and we should be aware in case we were asked to evacuate if the winds changed and it came towards us. Mike and I went outside and saw the hillside by the B (about a mile away) just completely lit up with flames. It ended up being okay and eventually they put the fire out, but it was scary for those close to it. We had a couple of families in our stake lose their homes; so sad. It took a few days for the smoke smell to clear out of our house, but I'm glad that was all we had to deal with.

A new school year
Morgan started high school this year. ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ 10th grade. She's such a beauty!
Miles started 8th grade. He's pumped because Nathan is finally at school with him. Nathan has been going to a private school, but this year he's starting at Millcreek. YAY!
Will is going into 4th grade with Ms Miller.
Meg is going into 2nd grade with Mrs Thompson.
Ivy is starting her 2nd year of preschool with Mrs Char. It's my 7th (and final!) year of having a child at Oak Glen Preschool with Mrs Char. Will went for 3 years, Meg 2, and then Ivy 2. She's been wonderful! Here's to another great school year!

My Little Monkeys
Ivy asked me to draw her a monkey... I am the worst drawer there ever was, but have no fear, I just googled 'monkey clipart' and bam - here's your monkey Ivy. I love how cute Meg and Ivy's monkeys turned out... Each one of us drew one - can you tell who drew which one? Meg has some serious potential.... Ivy's makes me laugh .
I love these little monkeys of mine!

More Ivy Pictures
I know I have a lot of pictures of Ivy... It's because she's home with me all day and it's just the two of us... And she is the baby of the family and we all think she's the cutest thing ever.
She does have some little quarks that can be quite annoying though. She insists on wearing the same pair of pink shorts every single day. These pink shorts are getting worn out, and if she's in another pair, it's because I've pried them off of her to be washed.
Ivy and I like to walk to the new houses being built and check out their progress. Today the tractors were digging so we had lunch in the church parking lot so we could watch them in action. She loves it, and I love my Acai bowl that I made for lunch. Lately Mike and I have been into my new recipe book, Clean Simple Eats. It has great smoothies and recipes that are good while we are both exercising so much.
Sometimes we even meet up with Grandpa for a lunch walk. We love living so close to them.

A getaway to Park City
We took a getaway with the kids to Park City for a couple of days. I was terrible about taking pictures... All I have are these from the Alpine coaster. Mike was first with Ivy and they were off before I could get a picture of them. Boo! Meg gave the ride 2 thumbs up! We stayed at the Marriott nearby and had a great last adventure before school starts next week.
And we got yummy ice cream!

Summer bike rides
We've all spent some time on the bikes this summer. Will and Meg especially have loved it this year. Mike took Nathan and Miles on a Blvd ride, which may have felt more like torture than fun for them at the end... Will and Grant have been going to rides almost daily and head to the blvd to look for lizards. Even Ivy's been in on the fun! She likes to head to the church parking lot and do laps.
Mike bought me my own Zanconato kit so we could match.... He loves me.

Will's ingrown fingernails
Will and Miles keep getting ingrown nails... I don't get it. Why is this happening??
I've never had them, but Mike has and they are painful. They get all red and filled with puss... EWWW. I'm glad Mike takes care of cleaning it out for me. GROSS!

Family hiking in Mueller Park
We've done a lot of little hikes this summer. We love that there are places to hike within a minute of our front door. We love Bountiful!
