Meg

Why is Meggie so cute!?!  She has the sweetest temperament and brings peace to our home.  I just can't get enough of her.  She has a bit of a silly side too which makes her even more lovable.
She's entered the phase of losing teeth.  I think she looks like a cute little pirate.  Argh-Meggie :)
She is very social and loves doing anything with friends.  Her favorite thing lately is activity days with the primary girls 8-9 years old.

My New 2018 Nissan Armada

After months of research and shopping around, we finally found THE ONE!  How have we lived in Bountiful so long without 4-wheel drive! I feel like I live in the car somedays with how much I'm running kids around, so this is the best thing ever! I never thought I'd drive a brand new car.  I love it! Thanks babe!!

Will

Will's 3rd grade class had a fun project where they had to do a book report on a famous person.  Will picked Anne Frank and I loved reading the book with him.  Then he made this poster for his oral report... Will is a perfectionist and it took us a long time to get the poster done, but I think it turned out amazing!

Will has a bit of a straw obsession.  Whenever he drinks anything, he has to have a straw.  Maybe he just likes being able to drink and have his hands free to do other things.  😜
Will had to make a leprechaun trap for school and I love how his turned out.  Leprechauns apparently don't follow instructions so he made rules for them hoping they'd disobey... Clever Will!  Once that leprechaun climbs the ladder, he will walk across the plank and fall throw that disguised hole in the ground.   Well done Will!
Will, the boy that sucked his thumb until he was waaaaayyyy too old, is now paying the price.  He had to get an expander to space his teeth out.  I have to crank it twice each day until his mouth is larger.  As it stretches and widens, more bone will grow and his mouth will be wider.  It's a big contraption, but Will is being a good sport about it.  Here's to 6 months of having food stuck to the roof of his mouth.

Lucky 13 Half Marathon

Right now I'm in the thick of Boston Marathon training.  I like throwing a half marathon into training about 4-6 weeks before a marathon as a long tempo run and to see if I'm where I should be for the time I want to get for the marathon.
I signed up for the Lucky 13 half marathon in Gardner Village, it was 4 weeks before Boston and I wanted to see how my training was going.  It was a flat course so I was hoping for 8-8:10 min miles... I ended up running it in 1:43:04, that's a pace of 7:52's per mile...  I was so happy with that time.  The last few miles were hard to keep at pace, but I refused to let myself slow down.  I ended up placing in my age group (35-39 year old female group) so that was kind of fun.  The 1st and 2nd place women in my category were in the top 3 overall finishers, so they didn't have them place in our category too... I'm still confused why... They gave me the 1st place in my age group, but really I was 3rd.  I'll take it!  I've never placed in my category before so it was exciting.  I don't like that they gave me the 1st place medal though, it really should have been 3rd and I would rather have that.... Oh well... It was a really fun race and I had a great day.  You can tell it was a small race- the other girl on the podium had already left and didn't even know she was getting a medal.  😂
Here's my training up to this point... I keep a log of every marathon training cycle I go through, and I plan out my fueling way in advance . You have to have a plan and try it out multiple times so race day goes smoothly. I'm such a nerd!

Mike's Zanconado Weekend

Mike spent the weekend in St George with his Zanconato team.  They rode a lot of miles and did a lot of climbing.   Mike really enjoys this group of cyclists and I'm glad he has a group to ride with.
