It's 2020 right now and I am finally getting around to updating the blog... I left off in April of 2018, so I have some serious catching up to do...It doesn't help that we've moved, I've gotten new electronics I need to figure out how to use, and I'm a busy mother of 5... But I am determined to catch up, so I will!
Aunt Kate came with Miller to watch the kids while Mike and I went to Hawaii for Mike's 40th birthday celebration. We went with AnnDee and Taylor who were also turning 40 in 2018. They let me (just shy of my 38th birthday tag along anyway :)
Mike took me to a Luau. It was awesome, but he should have taken a picture of the Luau instead of me watching the Luau :)
The only not fun part of the vacation was when Taylor had to have his dead toenail removed... Mike found some pliers and yanked his entire toenail off. I've never heard Taylor scream like he did.... Ouch!! I don't know how Mike did it.
There was a seal sleeping on the beach so they taped off the area and put "shhh, I'm sleeping" signs up.
Mike thought it was okay to shop looking like this... I wouldn't walk with him. He looked like a terrorist.
We went to see a slide magic show with Warren and ??? Something belle's... It's been too long and the light is shining on the sign so I can't read it... It as AMAZING!
Look at that awesome rainbow at our resort. It really did feel like we were in a dream, it as just so beautiful. We stayed at The Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas.
Mike wanted to do a bike ride called the Haleakala Ride to the Sun, which is a long climb up a valcano. So he biked up, we met him at the top, and we all biked down. Down is the way to go :) It was like going through three different climates: Mike started at the bottom were it was warm, and then he hit rain and eventually snow at the top.
We found some sunbathing sea turtles.
We had breakfast at the Plantation Golf Course, known for their amazing banana bread. They gave me the recipe :)
We went snorkeling and saw all kinds of fun colored fish.
I got a pretty bad sunburn, but after a day it turned into an awesome tan that I had for months afterwards! Totally worth it :)
Dinner at Dukes was awesome!
On our last day we traveled the Road to Hana. It's a super windy road with lots of stops along the way... Plenty to hike and see. A must if you're in Maui.
Our last stop was at this black sand beach. So pretty. Even though it turned my white shoes to black. Boo!
It was a great vacation with our favorite friends!
