Some of the things I love about our house... Part 1

In Columbus we lived really close to the temple. In fact it was about as close as we are here to the Bountiful Temple... But in Columbus we couldn't see the temple from our backyard. I love that the kids see this while they are swinging...

Standing at the swing set, but zooming in...

I love my living room. It's the one place in the house we don't really go into so it always stays clean. I love sitting on this couch and watching the kids play out front through my shutters. I love shutters!

On the other side of the living room sits two of these chairs. I love them too! I'm not normally a flower person, but I loved the red. I just had to have them.

We finally have an office. I've always had to use the kitchen table for my computer and now I finally have a desk. It's heaven. I can see the kids in the back and just sit there and take care of my really important business. (Don't pay attention to the drawer under the desk, it fell off the first day we had it and we haven't fixed it yet. It will probably still be there a year from now :)

I love having a peek a boo fire place. This fire place is on the wall in our kitchen and if you look through, you'll see the faces of the boys who are in the living room. It's fun for them to spy on us while we're in the kitchen and they think we have no idea they're watching.

I think the winner of my favorite things in this house is our new bed... We finally have a king bed and I will never go back. One night both Miles and Will weren't feeling well during the night so they climbed in bed with us. We all had plenty of room and slept just fine with all 4 of us in the bed. It's great on Saturday and Sunday mornings to pile all the kids in the bed and watch TV or read books. It's my very favorite!

I love that the kids have plenty of space to run and run.

I love having many exits to the backyard, there are 3 ways to the back from the kitchen area. I love having kids run in and out playing. It makes me happy to hear doors and little feet running all over.

That's all for now... More to come as we get it put together.

Spilling the beans...

This actually happened about a month ago, but it's too cute not to document.
When we decided to tell the kids we were having another baby, we decided to mail the kids a letter that we pretended was from the baby announcing it was on the way.
Here are the kids reading the letter...

Morgan read the letter to Miles... Here's the part where they finally figured it out.

Morgan kept saying "really?" over and over not knowing if she should believe it or not... Here they are letting it sink in.

How could they not be excited for this cute little thing to join our family. The Dr said everything looks great and it's measuring right on. What a cute baby already.

I say girl, Mike says boy. We'll see who's right in a couple months!

Recent Happenings

I've gotten behind on blogging. That's okay... There really isn't much to report on. We've just been unpacking and unpacking. Moving is the worst. I don't ever want to do it again as long as I live.

Other recent happening that don't include unpacking are:
Mike has once again proven that he is still THE MAN. Last week he flew out to Ohio to pick up our remaining stuff and drove it all back to Utah. Why does that make him the man you say?? Because he drove the entire way by himself without stopping. He drove over 1700 miles, over 28 hours of driving, and he only stopped for gas and one short hour long nap. I know I would be falling asleep driving all day and straight through the entire night, especially if I was by myself. I don't know how he did it, but I sure was happy to see him pull up in one piece!

Easter was very relaxed this year. In fact on Easter morning the kids baskets had a new pair of church shoes, one chocolate bunny, and one jelly bean egg. That's it. When they saw their baskets they said, "That's all?" Ha. It's good for them not to be too spoiled. Although they did enjoy the egg hunt with Aunt Brookie the day before!!

It was my birthday last week. I'm now 31. Craziness.

Interesting fact about my new birthday present from Mike... He went to the store and found this picture of the Salt Lake Temple a few days before my birthday... Well that same day I was looking at pictures online and really fell in love with this one. I emailed Mike the link and said, this would look cool over our fireplace. Interesting thing - it was the exact same one he picked out earlier that day.... It was so meant to hang in our living room. It honestly looks beautiful over the mantle. It matches perfectly - you really need to see it in person to fully appreciate it's beauty. I thought it was peculiar we picked the same picture on the same day without even knowing the other was looking at temple pictures. Mike and I -we are so meant to be together!!
