We're all a little bummed about something

Last week Mike and I went house hunting in Utah. It was quite frustrating and we couldn't find anything we liked. Bummer. The search continues. Although I can't complain too much. Our home here in Columbus sold quickly and to the first and only people to look at it. Not too shabby for selling a home in December in this market... It's in contract with a cute couple that I'm sure will love living in our home as much as we have!! We are counting our blessings for sure!

While Mike and I were in Utah, Morgan and Miles got to stay here with Mike's folks and family. Everyone chipped in and took great care of them. They had such a blast. 4 Sleepovers at Grandma & Grandpa's with the cousins, Aunts & Uncles all there... We really have such an amazing family here in Ohio. They are always willing to help with anything and everything we need. We really are going to miss having them so close... It's quite painful to think about, so I try my best not to. (Although at the same time we are super excited to be close to my family!! This is definitely a bitter-sweet move for us.)

One night while we were gone, Miles went with the cousins to see Santa. When I showed Miles this picture his face lit up and he said, "it was great to see Santa"... Then his face dropped and he added, "but he didn't bring me what I asked him for". Miles really wanted a remote control robot. (I think he just wanted one to be his personal slave. A robot would sure come in handy when it's time to pick up toys and make beds). Better luck next year kid-o.

Christmas 2010

This year Miles was so brave for his preschool program. He battled through the nerves and went right up and sang with the rest of the class.

This is a picture of Miles and his sweet little friend Lucy. They play together after school twice a week and have become great friends!

On Christmas Eve we kept our traditions alive. The kids decorated cookies for Santa...

These cookies were made with frosting, sprinkles and tons of slobber. Good thing Santa didn't mind.

The nativity!! Morgan was a beautiful angel and was so excited that she could read her part all by herself.

The audience...

Cousin Kelsey made Morgan's Christmas wish come true with a pillow pet... And the other picture is just because I love Scott in the background.

Feeding the reindeer...

New Christmas jammies.

Santa brought Will a pull frog. So cute!

We had a pretty small Christmas, and it was perfect.

I know you're just dying to see his wound

You'd think if your toe looked like this, you'd want to take it easy... Not Will. He hasn't cried once since we've been home from the hospital and he hasn't slowed down one bit. As soon as he woke up yesterday he's been running and dancing all over the place. He had a follow-up appointment today and the doctor was totally laughing when she saw how well he was running with his bandaged foot. He's a stubborn little stinker and won't slow down for anything!

I think it looks terrible, but the Dr said it looks great... Really?? I guess it's all relative.

OUCH

Yesterday was a very sad day for our little Will. The little stinker pulled our kitchen stool over and it landed smack on his middle toe. His poor toe was completely crushed. Once I wiped the blood off, I was able to see the fleshy top part of his toe was almost completely off. I may have freaked out for a second and I may have started crying, but only for a second. Since Mike wasn't home I had to pull myself together.... I ran Morgan and Miles next door and asked them to watch the kids while I took Will to hospital. Thankfully Mike pulled in the driveway while this was going on. We ran Will to the hospital where they did an x-ray and confirmed what I already knew- his toe was broken. They numbed him up and did a little surgery to attach the top part of his toe back on and reattach his toe nail. The surgery part was 40 minutes of pure torture. Will was hysterical and it broke my heart that I couldn't help. Mike was the hero and stayed in the room and hugged Will while they did everything and I stood in the hall like a complete wreck trying not to completely lose it.
Eventually it was over and Will fell right asleep. Poor guy was worn out from crying so hard.
Here he is taking it easy with the stuffed bear they gave him in the ER.

Today Will has been surprisingly pleasant. He hasn't cried at all, and he seems just fine. I've kept the Motrin flowing in hopes that he'll stay feeling good. Here he is elevating his foot just like the Dr ordered.

I can't wait until my little guy is healed and back to his goofy self.
Just look at those squishy arms. Mmmmm...
