Projects at Grandma’s

My mom’s been doing some projects to make her yard a little more manageable and it’s looking amazing!   She let Miles have the honor of breaking up the cement in the pond before she fills it in with dirt.  It’s kind of sad to see my dad’s pond and waterfall be retired and filled in, but it’s the right thing to do.  I’m so proud of my mom for being able to adjust and adapt like she has been.  It’s been hard on her, but she is amazing and I’m in awe everyday with how well she’s been handling this hardship.  She’s amazing and so strong…. And Miles is enjoying his part in the fun projects.  💪 

We love visiting Grandma. 💗💗

It’s all filled in with dirt and flowers.  This will be much more manageable this way.  I’m sure Dad loves it!  

It’s so fun to visit Grandma! She’s always so welcoming and sweet to the kids.

So I go to Walmart to pick something up with Will.  Just me and Will.  All of a sudden I hear loud kids goofing off in the store… they sound very much like the teenagers I know so well. Then these guys pop out from around the corner:

Will’s Customized Kicks

Will and Grant wanted to customize some shoes.  We went and picked out all the supplies and then they got to work.  They spent HOURS on them (totally worth the cost just to keep them entertained so long 😂) . 

Pretty snazzy Will!  Nice job. 

I’ve noticed he never wears them so I’m wondering if he doesn’t like how they turned out.  Oh well….  It was a fun way to spend a couple of days.  

First Day of School

The kids are all off to school. Everyone is in all day school (except Morgan who took as much home release as she could… stinker only has one class on A day and 3 classes on B day).

Morgan the Senior!!  She’s in the first class of the Bountiful Redhawks (they are the Braves no more because apparently Braves is super offensive 🙄.  The world has lost it’s mind).

Heber - Family Reunion Time

Grandma wanted some good quality time with the family before everyone went back to school, so she rented a house in Heber for a long weekend.  It was as fun as always!!  The games, food and laughter were nonstop!  We all missed dad terribly and felt his absence, but it was a happy time.  Everyone gets along so well and genuinely likes being together which makes it especially magical.

Uncle Bobby caught this special friend. You can’t really see his face, but they are the creepiest insect you’ve ever seen.  

Everyday was pool day. 💦 ☀️ 

Aunt Jodi rode around on that alligator for hours!  

This was the awkward moment of the reunion when I spilled water all over Brenda’s mini puzzle they were intensely working on.  It was totally ruined.  Nice job Amber! 

Hours of card games!! We could literally play cards for 10 hours a day and not get sick of it.  We mostly played Hand and Foot, 2000, and Rummy. 

Our family (Mike and I and the kids) were in one huge room with a queen bed and 2 sets of bunk beds. Ivy wanted one of the top bunks and pulled her bag up onto her bed.  I didn’t notice, but there was a long cupboard on the wall where Ivy’s top bunk was.  On the last day I noticed Ivy pulling something out of the cupboard so I went to see what was in there.  She had totally unpacked and organized all her things and kept it tidy the whole time we were there.  This melted my mama heart!  

Jake and Mandy came up with baby Marley for a couple of days.  We all loved passing Marley around.  👶🏻 💕 

Casey retired from Springville City Power and took a job up in Washington State and is leaving this week.  Brenda threw him a cute little Happy Retirement/Happy Next Adventure party.  

Mindy liked the cake!  I couldn’t have any. 😢This was my first vacation since my Celiac diagnosis and I got a taste for how hard and different traveling is going to be for me from now on. Definitely a learning curve and a new way of life to get used to.

Summer Wrap up

Will had another awesome deacons camp out.  

Meg has been going to the Rec Center with her friends without parent!!   They are finally old enough to drop off and pick up a couple hours later.  She’s loving the freedom!
