Ensign Peak

Mike was off work for the 4th, so we headed to Ensign Peak for a little hike.  The kids did great!  Ivy obviously was carried, but the other kids climbed like pros.

It was a great hike for our group.  Short but challenging enough.

We made it to the top!  Every time we do something like this we say, "how in the world did the mormon pioneers cross the plains with children?"  It's amazing!  We went for a 45 minute hike and Ivy was hot, Meg got a big cactus sticker in her toe, and they were all begging for water before we finished.  I can't even imagine what they experienced, but I'm so grateful they were strong and determined and helped establish this great area that we live in.

Are those big kid diapers?

Some of our favorite friends are Nathan and Olivia!  They really are part of our family and we love it!  One night we took a picnic up to Mueller and had some fun in the shade.

I don't know what was in that pizza, but these kids were out of control silly.  I think I've lowered my standards significantly because I didn't get embarrassed at all when hikers would walk by us....  They are such little nut-balls.

They were so proud of themselves for learning to tuck their shorts in to look like diapers.
Yup, something was in that pizza!

Some Summer Fun

Summer is flying by waaaaaay too fast!  We're trying to live it up as much as we can... Here's a few (well actually a few times a few) pictures to see what we've been up to.
Lots of ice cream :)

Fireworks in the cul-de-sac...  Will used his own money to buy fireworks, so Mike let him light them. Mike even held 4 of them together so Will could light 4 at the same time... Now that's love :)
I love how Ivy acts like a big kid now.  She wanted a turn lighting a firework and she insisted on sitting in the camping chair.  :)

Hitting the movies in 3-D...

Miles holding a snake at the movie theater...  What!?!

Lagoon-a-beach baby!

Lots of sleeping in... Most days Ivy sleeps in until 9.  Heaven!

Meeting the Neilsons for some swimming at Snowbird.  Ivy wasn't a fan of the cold water... brrr...

Taking Ivy for walks in the little stroller....

and the big stroller too...  She couldn't decide which kind of creamie she wanted, so she got both :)

Backyard fire pit and smores!  Um Morgan, I think you have some watermelon on your face.

Meeting the Nadaulds in Heber for a day of playing.

More movies on days that are too hot to be out.

The weeds keep growing and growing... Will picked all these weeds, but before he did he said, "hey look, these weeds are taller than I am!".  Well that's just embarrassing!

Watching sunsets on the porch.

Waiting for fireworks to start.

Free slurpees from 7-11 on 7-11.

Will went through storm trooper training.

We love playing at the park!

We love finding pink glasses at the park too.

Our car looks like this quite often.... We love taking the kids and their friends on adventures.  Usually it's to the church to play ball in the gym.  That's a big hit.

We met up with the "other" Nadaulds for a day at the creek. After their water fight, I'm surprised there was any water left in the creek!

Summer's been a blast so far!  I love having the kids home (although I'm not loving the constant mess and chaos) but it's been worth the drawbacks, especially when I take the kids for walks and see moments like this... Ivy and Meg chubby-little-hand-in-chubby-little-hand :)

Morgan's Temple Trips

Morgan just turned 12 last month and she's already been to the temple 4 times.  She loves it!  And I love that she asks to go so often.
Here are a few pictures from her temple trips this past month....

I love to see the temple!  And I love to see her love to see the temple!
