How did that happen? My sleepy-head little thumb sucker turned 8 years old! (And I'm proud to say that he hasn't sucked his thumb for months now! We honestly thought he was going to suck that poor thumb right off his hand :)
Here's some fun things about Will.
Will took 2nd place in his class read-a-thon. He came home everyday and read his little heart out. I don't even think it's because he enjoys reading, it's just that he's just so dang competitive. (he's definitely our boy!)
He makes the cutest things at school....
Will hitched a ride home from school on 12 year old Johnny's motor bike.... Um, that won't happen ever again, but I had to hurry and snap a picture before I got mad at him. He got off the bike and both shoe laces were untied and his bare legs were right next to the burning hot motor not to mention the unhelmeted head.... So many things could have gone wrong... He won't make that mistake again. Mom wasn't happy.
Will is so thoughtful. Kindness is one of his best qualities! He made me this bracelet at school for Mother's Day and he was so excited to give it to me. He brought it home on Thursday and everyday he begged to give it to me. I told him to wait until Mother's Day and he's hang his head and put it back. When Mother's Day finally came he was bursting. He gave me the bracelet and I've worn it to church every week since. It's my favorite!!! And his note was the sweetest!
Will took first place in the school running contest for running club. Will put his heart into running as fast and far as he could every Tuesday and Thursday during recess. He ended up running farther than anyone else and he won all these cool prizes... $5 to Keva, $10 to Get Air, free pass to the rec center, and his grand prize of a new hammock! Did I mention this kid is competitive?? And athletic?? And hard working?? It will be a good combination for him in the future.
I always catch him doing kind things. I love this note I found that he made for Miles.
Will watching his birthday videos that friends texted him.
Will got to go out to the traditional birthday lunch and shopping with Grandma and Grandpa. He got his Disneyland gift card and since he's 8, he also got to pick out new scriptures.
Will picked Chipotle for his birthday lunch.
Black leather scriptures that have his full name printed on them.
Birthday ice cream cones.
Special package from Grandma and Grandpa Dehner.
Then we took all the kids to Get Air per the birthday boy's request.
After that Will picked Red Robin for dinner. Lucky duck!
Check out his birthday present!! He plays on it for hours everyday. Best gift ever!! Totally worth Mike spending an entire Saturday putting it together :)
