Memorial Weekend

Memorial weekend was a good time for us.  Our great friends The Dukes invited us and The Hesses to come play at their Midway house.  We swam, we ran, we played games outside, we ate a lot, we laughed... you get the idea.
Look at all those kids...  That's what it's all about folks.  No greater joy than raising these little people.  It's even better when we can raise them with friends that have great kids too.  Each one of them is so unique and different from one another, yet they get along and enjoy being together.  It's a good fit.

Funny faces...

Morgan and Sadie-girl.  Slumber-party!

Miles entertaining Meg.  One of my favorite things about being a mom is seeing how much my kids love each other and enjoy looking after each other. (Most of the time... They have their moments, but overall I think they really enjoy being together.)

Will and the Andy-man.

Miles and Allie.

Carl gave the boys haircuts.  Mike too.  Isn't that sweet.

I love how Meg's little leg barely wraps around Miles... Look at that cute little foot poking out the side.

Meg and Davis started bonding over the weekend.  Meg even started saying his name. Again, look at the feet :)

The Biking Posse

Shhh... Don't tell them I said that...  I've made that mistake before and they weren't happy.  Apparently it's not biking - it's CYCLING.
It's that time of year again and Mike's been back at it on his bike.  Just look at that man in spandex.  It's okay, I give you permission.  The man looks good, esp those legs of his poking out of his shorts.
Here's a few pictures from his ride last week.   I think they went 55 miles and trust me - those aren't an easy 55 miles.  They throw in some serious, SERIOUS hills.  Don't ask me where they went because I have no clue, but apparently it's impressive enough that they had to take a picture at the top.
I love that Mike has good friends that keep him busy with fun things.
Here's 2 pictures so we can see everyone in the group...

Will Graduates 3 Year Old Preschool

Will graduated from 3 year old preschool this week... Yay Will!
His class had a little program and graduation thingy.  It was cute.
Here's his class...

Will and his little buddy Nels.  They are the exact same age - they even share a birthday.

Saying the pledge...  Will stood there silent and every once in a while he would spit out a word or two...  He's like the rest of our children - very shy in public settings.

Showing us what a triangle looks like.

There was plenty of dancing!  So cute!

Will and his awesome teacher.  She runs a tight ship and Will thinks the world of her!
Nice work buddy!

Now I see where they learned it from....

The boys are just like their daddies....  Everybody enjoys cheek to cheek time with their pals.

Well, almost everybody.

I knew he'd come...

This little guy has been hanging around a lot today...  I just knew if I was patient he'd come...

Drink up little friend!!!

Sharing is Caring...

Will has learned to share with his friends...

Seriously, how cute is that!

Meg on the other hand, not so much...
She knew her little buddy wanted the ball, but there was no way she was letting him get his mitts on HER ball. She watched him carefully from behind the couch to make sure he wasn't coming...

Pretending she doesn't notice he's coming...

This look is my favorite...  They stayed like this for a while and she stayed strong with the stare-down...

Finally he gave up.

Don't worry...  After this we sat down and all shared the ball.  I just thought it was funny to watch it play out.  I love this age.

Finding Joy in the Simple Things

I just bought myself a hummingbird feeder and I couldn't be more thrilled!  I grew up with a feeder outside my kitchen window that looks exactly like this one I bought.  My kids need to experience the same thrill of watching hummingbirds that I had.  It's one of my favorite childhood memories.

My structural engineering guys that I worked for back in Ohio would be proud of my makeshift hanging hook out of a piece of wire hanger...  Look at that with its double reinforcement.  I'm sure it's up to code and could withstand winds of at least 80 mph.  Not too shabby :)
I am still waiting for the hummingbirds to find our feeder... I can't stop myself from constantly checking on it... But I think it's like the watched pot of water that never boils.  I going to try and forget about it for a few days and hope they find it.

Meg now goes to nursery at church.  Yeah!  Now we just need to get her to go without crying herself to sleep.  Last week Mike told me about how much she loved the bubbles... DUH!  How could I forget about bubbles?  Every 1 year old loves bubbles.  A few days later I went out and bought a bunch of bubbles!    It felt like I had rediscovered a long lost friend.

I am so excited for summer!  Only 2 1/2 weeks of school left!

I love this man.  I think I take him for granted far too often.  He rarely complains about anything and he's always working hard for our family in some respect.  I'm glad he's mine.
Some pictures from our warm weathered weekend....  The kids played while Mike and I worked...  Something seems so wrong about that, but I'm glad our kids have such fun friends.

Mike spent the entire day getting all the sprinklers working...  After 3 or 4 trips to the store, quite a few hours, and a lot of frustration, he finally had them all working.  He said he wanted each one of my flowers to get water - aww, he really does love me.

This is my favorite flower.  My mom grew it in a little cup in her basement and then brought it over just for me.  I love it.

Some of my favorite flowers around the yard...

Morgan made me this fun stone at school for Mother's Day.  I love it!  It was just the touch the yard needed.
