Happy Halloween!

Halloween was beautiful this year!  The weather was perfect for trick-or-treating, no coats were needed.  

Will and Miles wanted to be stick figures so Mike and I decided to join them and be their stick figure parents.  Ivy was a pumpkin, Meg was an elephant rider, and Morgan was the smiley poo emoji (that's so Jr High!).

On Halloween, the kids didn't have school and Mike took the day off of work so we could do something Halloweeny (is that a word?).  We decided to carve pumpkins.  I think they turned out amazing!

Will loves to create things out of boxes.  Sometimes I'm quite impressed with what he comes up with... Here is a special shower he made for Ivy...

And my favorite part, the shampoo bottle.  He even made a squirt pump poking out of the top :).  

Here is Will showing me the wall he built with his friends at recess with all the wood chips.  He loves 1st grade and having recess!  

Will got whacked in the face with Miles's head while the boys were playing football with the Nadauld boys.  Poor Will.  His eye immediately swelled up and we knew within a day or two he'd have pretty impressive shiner.  

We were right.  What a tough lookin' kid!  

Speaking of tough, you should see Will ride his bike :).  He followed me on a 5 mile run and he was able to go up the hills and ride the whole way.  It's so fun to have the boys tag along on their bikes.  It makes me sooooo happy.  

55 Years!

These two have been married for 55 years!  WOWZA!  They took all their adult children and their spouses out to dinner to celebrate and then we went back to their house for cheesecake!  It was such a fun night!   

This is just because we can't get enough of pie face at our house.  It never gets old  :)  

The kids made Grandma play when she stopped by and of course we had to take pictures!  

Conference weekend

Ivy needed a nap between sessions of conference so I got the kids outta there so Mike and Ivy could have some peace and quiet...  We walked to the temple and went exploring in the woods.

October Playing

October is my favorite month! I just love the weather and all the fun activities going on all the time.  I decided to have a date with my middle children and so I left Ivy home with dad and sneaked away with Will and Meg.  We went to Gardner Village and checked out all the spooky witches.

Corn mazes, bouncy mats, and all kinds of fun! 

On our way home we stopped for lunch.  It was so fun to have just the two of them,  They are at such fun ages and I didn't have to chase our wild baby around so I could just sit and enjoy them.  It was a great day!  

Grandma took us to the Wild Lights at the zoo.... scary!  

Mike took the older kids to see Music and the Spoken Word.  I wasn't sure if Will would sit that long and not get bored, but he's the one that liked it the most.  Mike said he didn't want to leave after it was over and he sat amazing the entire time.  

October means football is in the air!  After watching Ohio State play the boys get an itch to put on their uniform and head out back.  

October means Frightmares!  

Love all these little wanted bandits!  

Scottsdale Getaway

Mike had a conference in Scottsdale, AZ for a few days and he decided to surprise me with a babysitter so I could tag along.  Kate and Miller came out with the kids and I think they were more excited to have them come than I was get away (and believe me I was excited!!).   For 3 days I didn't have to do one thing for anyone under the age of 12.  It was such a treat.

We saw a couple of movies, The Magnificent 7 and The Hollars.  We loved them both! 

We went for a run in the warm morning sun and then shared our breakfast with a few dozen of our new friends.  

We hung out  by the pool and ate cheesecake...  Seriously, those are all of my favorite things: running, movies, hanging by the pool in the sun, and cheesecake!  Thanks for the getaway babe!  It made me excited for retirement :)  We only have few decades until that happens right....  

I was so lame and only got one picture while Kate was here...  We went with Grace and Adelaide to see Women's Conference in the Conference Center.  It was wonderful and I left with a full cup!  

I love the women in my life!  

And a huge THANK YOU to Kate for taking such great care of our kids while we were gone.  She had 5 kids on different schedules to juggle and on top of our crazy kids, Miller broke his leg while he was here.  Of course Kate didn't let her feathers get ruffled for one minute.  She's amazing and the kids adore her! 

Who "nose"?

This is just too cute!  This is Will's primary class and Will's favorite primary teacher Sister Vunipola.

They "nose" the words to the songs so they got these adorable noses :).  How clever our primary music leader is :)  

Football Champs.... again....

This post feels like deja vu....  These boys were the flag-football champs again for their age division.  Way to go boys!!
